What is a clubhouse?

Clubhouses are community-based locations designed to support the recovery of people living with serious mental illness (SMI). Clubhouses provide restorative environments for people whose lives have been severely disrupted because of their mental illness.

In a clubhouse, members and staff work side-by-side to carry out all daily operations of the community. Members are also connected with resources to support their basic needs, including support with employment, relationship building, education, housing, and daily meals, and have access to crisis intervention services when they may be in need of them.
